AFIA believes in capability growth and skill development for your staff in the finance sector. We are working with members to employ finance professionals that don’t just do a job, but understand the benefit it provides to customers of finance in Australia.

Through partnering, arrangements with specialist registered training organisations AFIA offers a range of professional development opportunities. These can provide dedicated solutions or internal educational programs. Courses provide a pathway of growth and development for individuals across the industry designed to meet accredited educational standards.

Through the Australian Institute of Credit Management, we currently offer educational solutions for our Working Capital Division (Debtor & Invoice Finance Sub-Division). These are face-to-face workshops or more targeted in-house training. Successful completion counts towards accredited qualifications.

Other educational programs are currently under development with a specific focus on:

  • Consumer finance to meet National Consumer Credit licensing and regulator-conduct expectations; and
  • Commercial equipment finance to enable member representative to be able to clearly explain the tax, legal and accounting differences and pricing models for the three main equipment finance products: chattel mortgage, asset/hire-purchase or leasing to better support a competitive market giving commercial customers, small business, a range of options to access finance.

AFIA’s Training & Accreditation Division will oversee the program.
