Conference

Where Ideas Connect

Tuesday, 20 October 2026

Now in its thirtieth year, the AFIA Conference is where Australia’s financial services industry comes together to confront what’s changing, challenge what’s accepted and shape what comes next. Bringing together senior leaders, innovators, government representatives and industry experts, the conference puts the issues defining the industry under the microscope – from technology and fraud to regulation, risk, economics and the changing expectations of customers.

This year’s theme, Trust in Transition, explores what happens to trust when the rules, technologies and expectations around financial services are changing faster than the industry can keep up. From AI and fraud to cybersecurity, regulation, economic uncertainty and shifting consumer expectations, the program will examine where trust is being tested, where it is being rebuilt, and what businesses need to do differently as the landscape changes.

Across keynotes, fireside conversations, expert panels and practical sessions, the conference will put the issues facing lenders under the microscope. Expect informed debate, real-world perspectives and a focus on what these changes mean for businesses operating on the front line of Australia’s evolving financial system.

The conference is also an opportunity to hear directly from industry leaders, innovators and experts, exchange ideas with peers and make the connections that help turn insight into action.

The 2026 AFIA Conference takes place on Tuesday, 20 October at Capella Sydney. Included with every conference registration is a seat at the 2026 AFIA Awards Gala Dinner on Monday, 19 October at the conference venue. The Awards provide an opportunity to celebrate the people and organisations making a meaningful contribution to the industry, reconnect with colleagues and build new connections in an informal setting before the conference the following day.

One registration. Two events. An evening to connect, a day to challenge thinking.
