The Hon Tim Wilson MP
The Hon Tim Wilson MP is the Shadow Treasurer and Federal Member for Goldstein, appointed to the Treasury portfolio in February 2026.
Mr Wilson was first elected to represent Goldstein in 2016 and returned to the seat in 2025. He served as Assistant Minister for Industry, Energy and Emissions Reduction in the Morrison Government, and following the 2025 election held the Small Business and Industrial Relations and Employment portfolios in the Shadow Ministry.
From 2019 to 2022 he chaired the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Economics, leading the Review of Australia's Four Major Banks and Other Financial Institutions. Under his chairmanship the committee scrutinised the banking, superannuation and insurance sectors, including their implementation of the recommendations of the Hayne Royal Commission.
Before entering Parliament, Mr Wilson served as Australia's Human Rights Commissioner.
