Ellis Connolly

Ellis Connolly is Head of the Payments Policy Department at the Reserve Bank of Australia, a role he has held since December 2021. He leads the team advising the Payments System Board on the safety, competitiveness and efficiency of Australia's payments system.

Mr Connolly has spent more than two decades at the Reserve Bank. He was previously Deputy Head, Financial Markets Infrastructure in the Payments Policy Department, responsible for the supervision of systemically important clearing and settlement facilities and payment systems operating in Australia, and has also held the positions of Deputy Secretary, Deputy Head of the Domestic Markets Department and Deputy Head of the Economic Analysis Department.
