Driving Confidence in the Used EV Market – Insights from Pickles’ Battery Health Program

Webinar

The used electric vehicle (EV) market is growing rapidly across Australia, with volume increasing month-on-month and a 300% growth recorded in the past financial year alone. As major fleet companies and financiers release more used EVs into the market, Pickles is now selling over 200 used EVs per quarter – a number that continues to rise.

Despite the growth, challenges remain. Price fluctuations and uncertainty around battery health have made motor dealers hesitant to engage, currently purchasing only 40% of used EVs compared to 70% of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.

In response, Pickles launched an Australian-first Battery Health Assurance Program in 2023, testing the battery State of Health (SoH) on over 850 battery electric vehicles (BEVs). With an average SoH of over 96% – and more than 93% for BEVs over four years old – this program is building transparency and confidence in the used EV market.

This webinar will explore:

  • Trends and growth in the used EV market

  • Key barriers to dealer and consumer adoption

  • Insights from Pickles’ Battery Health Assurance Program

  • The future role of SoH certificates in EV financing and retail

  • How this innovation can support increased EV adoption across Australia

Join AFIA and Pickles as we discuss how SoH transparency is reshaping the used EV landscape and opening new opportunities for motor dealers, financiers and consumers alike.
