AFIA EV Discount Submission

06 February 2026. AFIA’s submission urges the Government to retain and strengthen the Electric Car Discount to accelerate transport decarbonisation. Evidence shows the policy effectively increases EV uptake, supports market development and affordability, and underpins climate targets. Removing incentives now would hinder emissions reduction, stall demand, and undermine Australia’s net zero transition.
